FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Po Man Records through PoManOS — independent, Tampa FL. The things fans ask most about releases, merch shipping, how pre-release drops work, which genres we cover, how to submit music, what Founding Supporters are, and how PoManOS relates to Po Man Records.

How do I get a new release — and where will it go live?
Every PoManOS release goes through a monthly-administered release flow managed by the label. Once a release is live, the /releases/:slug detail page shows exactly which storefronts the track is on (Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, YouTube Music, and others), and artists can self-check the per-storefront "Live On" block in the artist portal. Until a release is fully live across storefronts, its status stays as submitted or scheduled — you can track that progress in real time at /distribution-status. New releases ship to all major DSPs on the same release day, so there's no staggered rollout.
When do pre-orders open, and how do they work on PoManOS?
PoManOS currently sells finished releases and Print-on-Demand merch through Printify — so both go live at release, not in a separate pre-order window. When a track is uploaded, mastered, and queued for distribution, it shows up in the store on release day and isn't available to purchase beforehand. For upcoming drops that haven't gone live yet, the best move is to subscribe to the newsletter — every release announcement, embargo lift, and limited-edition merch drop goes out there first.
Does PoManOS ship merch internationally, and where do apparel orders ship from?
Yes — apparel listings on /merch are Print-on-Demand via Printify (our production partner, po-man-swagger-attire.printify.me). Printify's global production network means that delivery time and shipping cost are set per item at checkout — the price you see in your cart already includes Printify's shipping & production. Direct-to-fan digital items in /store aren't shipped at all — they're delivered as a download link the moment your payment clears, anywhere in the world.
I bought something from a PoManOS artist — when do I get the file?
Digital store purchases give you an instant download token (valid for 72 hours) the moment Stripe confirms checkout — click Download from your confirmation screen to grab the file right away. Once the file is fetched the buyer also retains the email link in case you want to re-download. Beats from /beats and licensed tracks from /songs use the same Stripe flow: the full track is delivered once checkout_verified flips to true on the purchase record. If you don't see your download link within a few minutes, check your spam folder or use /purchase-status to look it up by email.
What does PoManOS do with the money from a sale?
Direct-to-fan sales split 70 / 30 — 70% goes to the artist, 30% stays with the platform to cover streaming infrastructure, payments, hosting, and label operations. That split is locked at the moment of purchase and stored as an immutable ledger_entries row (database triggers block any later edit), so the artist can always reconcile what they're owed. Streaming subscriptions split 60 / 40 in favor of artists — substantially more than major-label distributors. Affiliate-referred sales add a 20% commission layer so supporters can earn by spreading the word, with the artist still taking home 50%. Full split details are at /pricing.
Which genres does Po Man Records work with?
Po Man Records is an all-genre record label and artist-development company based in Tampa FL — we sign and develop work across Hip-Hop, R&B, Pop, Gospel, Worship, and beyond. Gospel remains the area of deepest internal expertise and special focus, which is why more gospel projects run through our roster than most indie labels — but artists from any genre are welcome to submit. Every submission, regardless of genre, goes through the same A&R review. The live roster at /artists shows what we're currently working with.
How do I submit music to Po Man Records for consideration?
Start with our submission guidelines — they spell out audio specs (WAV or high-bitrate MP3, -14 LUFS reference) and the metadata we need (artist name, genre, credits, ISRC/UPC if you have them). Once your demo is ready, route it through the Submit Your Music path so it lands on our A&R desk; every genre is reviewed, with deeper focus on gospel. Unsigned material goes through review before distribution — submitting a track is not a commitment of acceptance, but you will get a real response. If a long-term fit emerges from review, our team will reach out about the full artist application flow and a roster invite.
What are Founding Supporters — and why does it matter?
Founding Supporters are the early fan and investor community backing Po Man Records and its roster through the Founding Supporter Channel. Backers fund artists directly via Cash App, and in return they get credit-list naming on supported projects, early access to releases and events, and direct support of artists they believe in — independent Tampa FL artists building something real. This is not a return-on-investment product: there are no guaranteed payouts, no equity, and no donor perks. It's personal backing — "no returns, just real support" — of an independent label that's proving indie music deserves a shot. The live pool is open at /angel-investor, and the current roster of supporters is listed at /supporters.
What is PoManOS, and how does it relate to Po Man Records?
PoManOS is the technology platform that powers Po Man Records. Po Man Records is the independent Tampa FL record label and artist-development company — the part that signs artists, runs A&R, ships releases, drops merch, and puts on events. PoManOS is the software behind it: the storefront where fans buy music directly from artists, the streaming subscription service, the distribution pipeline to Spotify / Apple Music / Tidal / YouTube Music, the payments layer, the artist portal, and the NFC tap-to-download flow. The analogy we use: Po Man Records is the artist-and-fan relationship; PoManOS is the infrastructure that scales it. A closer look is at /about.
